Fixing Wild Growth, Grid and Clique

I raid as a paladin, but even I've heard of the funkiness that is Wild Growth. There is a bug in Wild Growth at the moment, when it comes to using addons such as Clique, that claims the person you want to heal is out of range, even when they're not, if you have someone targetted who IS out of range.

Yeah, that took me a minute to figure out, too. Let's take a look at this screenshot.

First of all, you'll note that Wild Growth is only castable on party or raid members. So I'm targetting this draenei over there on that elekk way, way over there by the IF AH bridge while I'm in the bank. He's WAY out of my range and not in my party.

But, you'll notice there's a Grid frame visible (with the druid's name blurred out). You'll also notice the "out of range" errors. What's happening here is that I have the draenei targetted, but am right-clicking on my druid's Grid frame, with Right-Click being my Clique bind for Wild Growth.

So, despite the fact that I'm actually trying to cast on myself, something, somewhere, thinks I'm trying to cast on that draenei, just because I have him targetted.

The easy solutions are to target the person you want to cast Wild Growth on and try to cast the spell (either through your Clique bind, or actually hitting your WG button)... or to use a macro.

So how do you get Clique to run a macro? Excellent question.

Open your spellbook and open the Clique configuration and select Helpful Actions for Click Set.

Select Custom (what #1 is pointing at).

Select Run Custom Macro.

Paste the following text into your Macro Text: area:

/cleartarget
/cast [target=mouseover,noharm,exists] Wild Growth
/targetlasttarget

Then hover your mouse over the Set Click Binding button and then use your preferred combination of keys and clicks to cast Wild Growth. I selected Alt-Right Button. Then hit Save!

This is what it'll look like in your Clique setup. This shows that I have both Alt-Right Button and Shift-Right Button bound to that macro. And that's literally all it takes to fix your Wild Growth so that you can hover over your target again and not worry about who or what else may be targetted!

Enjoy your raid healing, druids. :)

Madrana :)
